The Garrett ACE 150: The first model in Garrett’s line of cutting-edge, industry shaping metal detectors!

They took the best elements of their GTI and GTAx lines and incorporated them into the most rugged and aggressive outdoor detector design that they could imagine. These detectors incorporate custom notch discrimination, accurate pinpointing and finely-tuned sensitivity and depth settings.

What are the ACE 150’s signature features?

For starters, the ACE 150 provides an accurate and effective Coin Depth Indicator which makes it easy to both locate coins and see exactly how deeply you need to dig to find them. The detector also features a targeted Coins mode which eliminates most other small objects which show up during coin hunts (like iron, bottle caps and pull tabs), making it an ideal device for accurate coin shooting. Of course, aside from the device’s Coins mode, it also features a standard All Metal mode for more general hunting and a jewerly mode.

The ACE 150 features 4 levels of sensitivity, which are continuously displayed. The jewelry mode can be used for those times when you are looking for lost rings, bracelets, watches and necklaces. This device also features 3 different levels of audio discrimination, helping you to differentiate easily between highly conducive targets (like US coins), medium conducive targets (like jewelry and international coins) and low conducive targets (such as iron and nails).

How to manually pinpoint with the Garrett ACE 150:

Although the ACE 150 does not have a pinpointing mode to aid in targeting the exact location of your find, the location can still be determined by moving the searchcoil over a target from left to right.  The audio signal the ACE 150 emitts occurs when the left edge of the coil meets the target underground.  Visually take note of that position by imagining a vertical line slicing the left edge of coil.  Now, turn the coil 90 degrees to your imaginary vertical line and scan again using the same method as outlined in the diagram.  The target will be located in the center of the imaginary "cross" created when scanning.
